Terms of Use
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the mobile application FaceShape – Your face, measured (the "Application"), you enter into a legally binding agreement with Corvas ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our").
If you do not agree with all provisions of these Terms of Use, do not install, access, or use the Application. Continued use of the Application indicates your full and irrevocable acceptance of these terms.
2. Eligibility & Permitted Use
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age for digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Application. If you are under 18, you represent that you have reviewed these terms with your parent or guardian and that they consent on your behalf.
You are granted a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to install and use the Application on compatible mobile devices under your personal ownership or control, solely for personal, non-commercial, or creator production purposes.
3. Prohibited & Misuse Conduct
You agree that you will not:
- Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, decrypt, or attempt to derive the source code of the Application or any component thereof.
- Modify, adapt, enhance, translate, or create derivative works from the Application.
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations in connection with your use.
- Circumvent, remove, alter, or disable any digital rights management, security features, or license verification mechanisms.
- Distribute, publish, or share illegal, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or malicious content generated or exported using the Application.
- Use the Application for automated scraping, malicious automated scripts, or denial-of-service attempts.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
The Application, including its source code, architecture, design assets, trademarks, logos, audio models, graphics, and interface layouts, is the intellectual property of Corvas and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.
User-Generated Content: You retain complete ownership and intellectual property rights in any original photos, videos, scripts, text, or audio you import, record, or render using the Application. We claim no ownership over your creative output.
In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
FaceShape provides free face shape identification and core geometric width ratios. Full detailed reports (hairstyle guides, glasses recommendations, symmetry visualisations) are accessible via auto-renewing subscriptions (e.g. Weekly or Yearly plans). Subscriptions are billed directly through Google Play and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the renewal date in Google Play Subscription settings. Refunds are handled in accordance with Google Play store policies.
Billing, Renewal & Cancellation
- Store Processing: All in-app transactions, subscriptions, and recurring charges are processed exclusively by the Google Play Store under Google Play Terms of Service.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the conclusion of the active subscription cycle.
- Managing Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play Store Account (Play Store > Profile Icon > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions).
- Refund Policy: Because all payments are handled directly by Google, refund requests are subject to Google Play refund rules and must be submitted through Google Play customer support.
Specific Product Disclaimers
Aesthetic Conventions & Entertainment Only — Not Medical Advice
FaceShape calculates mathematical proportions of the face and matches them against widely recognized fashion and styling conventions. It does NOT provide medical, dermatological, orthodontic, cosmetic surgery, psychological, or biometric identity diagnosis. Recommendations (e.g., hairstyles or frames that 'may complement') are suggestions for personal styling inspiration only.
Not Biometric Identification
FaceShape does not measure or store biometric templates for security authentication or surveillance. Calculations are transient geometric measurements designed exclusively for aesthetic feedback.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED TO YOU ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL OPERATE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURELY, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPATIBLY WITH EVERY COMBINATION OF HARDWARE AND OPERATING SYSTEM VERSIONS.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL Corvas, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, HARDWARE CORRUPTION, DEVICE MALFUNCTION, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.
IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU FOR IN-APP SERVICES DURING THE PAST SIX MONTHS OR TEN UNITED STATES DOLLARS ($10.00 USD).
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Corvas from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your violation of these Terms of Use; (b) your misuse of the Application; or (c) your infringement of any third-party intellectual property or privacy right.
8. Modifications & Termination
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Application (or any specific feature) at any time with or without notice. We may update these Terms of Use periodically; continued use after revised terms are posted constitutes your acceptance.
We may terminate or suspend your right to access the Application immediately and without prior notice if you breach any material provision of these Terms.
9. Governing Law & Contact
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable law of the developer's registered operating jurisdiction, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
